Ord Prof MD Muhittin (Muhiddin) Erel's name was so conspicuous in the establishment of Ege University in Izmir as being the third university of Turkey on 1955 Ord Prof MD Muhittin Erel is remembered as the founder of Ege University and also the first rector in between the dates of March 11 1958 March W 1960 He was assigned as the Founder Dean of Ege University Medical Faculty on the date of March 2 1955 in addition to this appointment Concurrently because he was a specialist of public health he took the initial menagerial responsibility of hygiene professorship of the medical faculty in the university In our article we shall present his short biography and the story of the establishment of Ege University by the speech of him
