Özet
The goals of community mental health services are to prevent mental illness and care for those with diagnosed mental illness and prevent mental illness. Epidemiological studies in community mental health services, examine the incidence and prevalence of mental disorders in a defined population. Because they are expensive to carry out, most of the assessment studies of community needs use results from previous studies and apply these findings to their situation. The staffs in community mental health services are psychiatrists, general practitioners, community mental health nurses, psychologists and social workers, etc. Roles of the community mental health nursing include primary mental health care, developing interdisciplinary collaborative practice models, psychosocial rehabilitation and prevention, and wellness programs. In this article, epidemiological studies in community mental health services and roles of the community mental health nursing are described.
