Spacer fabrics are state of the art structures and attract more attentions in recent years. They have been already used in many areas and present different advantages especially for the technical applications. Spacer fabrics have different characteristics compared to the conventional textiles due to their three dimensional structure and therefore characterization of those structures with existing methods is not possible. New approaches and new methods must be defined and applied for this purpose. The compression behavior of spacer fabrics is one of their main characteristics. They show a good compression resistance due to the spacer yarns in their three dimensional structure. Spacer fabrics have been already used in many applications thanks to their compression resistance. However, compression behavior of spacer fabrics has not been searched exactly up to now. In this study a testing method for characterization of spacer fabrics used in concrete applications on the basis of their compression behavior have been defined and applied to the different spacer fabrics.
