Textiles used for balistic protection, their properties and balistic performance tests [Bali'sti'k koruma amaçli kullanilan teksti'l materyalleri', özelli'kleri' ve bali'sti'k performans testleri']

People have felt need for protection not only in daily life but also during war time and therefore investigations to find new materials for better protection have been studied by many researchers. With the improvements in "Ballistic Science", the researches in this area began to increase and the performance tests became more and more important. There are various international standards to test the effectiveness of the ballistic protection. Ballistic protection efficiency of the protective equipments and products are conducted within the scope of these standards. Brief information for textile materials used for ballistic protection and their performance tests are given in this article.
