Özet
ÖZET Gaga kesimi yumurta yönlü ve etlik civcivlerde kanibalzmi ve yem kaybını. önlemede etkili bir uygulamadır. Ancak kısa üretim dönemi nedeniyle etlik piliçlerde bilhassa ülkemizde yaygın bir uygulama alanı bulmamıştır. Oysa etlik piliçlerde de gagalama olayı görülebilmekte ve önemli düzeyde ölüm ve yem kaybı olabilmektedir. Bu araştırmada, gaga kesiminin etlik piliçlerin çeşitli verim özelliklerine etkisi saptanmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları irdelendiğinde gaga kesiminin canlı ağırlığı olumsuz yönde etkilediği görülmektedir, ölüm oranları dikkate alındığında 1. ve 6. gün 1/3 oranında gaga kesimi uygulanan gruplarda ölüm oranlarının oldukça düşük olduğu görülür. 1. ve 6. gün 1/2 oranında gaga kesimi yapılan gruplarda ise bu durum gürülmemiştir. Yemden yararlanma değerlerini incelediğimizde 1. gün 1/2 düzeyinde gaga kesimi yapılan grubun yemden yararlanma değerinin farkedilir düzeyde iyileştiği görülmüştür. Gruplar, karkas özellikleri ve karkas randımanı bakımından karşılaştırıldığında, karkas randımanı ve 6. hafta karkas özellikleri bakımından farklılıklar önemli, 7. hafta karkas özellikleri bakımından ise farklılıklar önemsiz bulunmuştur. Araştırma bulgularından elde edilen sonuçlar gaga kesiminin canlı ağırlığı olumsuz etkilediğini, buna karşın yemden yararlanmayı iyileştirdiğini göstermektedir. 27
SUMMARY Debeaking is an effective procedure against Cannibalism and feed wastage in the egg type pullets and the Broilers. However, owing to fact that the breeding of Broilers needs short periods os time, this method has not been applied widespreadh, especially in Turkey. Where as pecking may be seen in Broilers, too, and it may cause mortalily and a large amount of feed wastage. Eor this reuson, in this research, the effects of debeaking on the performance of Broilers was investi gated. The results of research showed that debeaking effected weight gain negatively. Mortality was fairly low in the group of one third debeaked pullets which was debeaked at ist or one day old. Mortality was significantly high in the group of one-half debeaked pullets which was debeaked at first or 6 th day. On the other hand feed conversion ratio was significantly high in the group of one-half debeaked pullets which was debeaked at first day. Comparing carcass yield and other carcass characteristics between these groups, carcass yield and carsass characteristics was statistically significant at 6 th week, carcass charac teristics was not statis tically significant at 7 th week. As a result of research, it was found that debeaked has effected body weight negatively, but has improved feed conversion ratio. ?8
