Özet
Bu makalede, Urartu kültüründe hangi tür faaliyetler için kurban kesildiği, kurban hayvanlarının türleri veya kurbanda uygulanması gereken normlar ile ilgili arkeolojik ve yazılıverileri değerlendirilerek kurban düşüncesinin Urartu dini içindeki konumu ve hangi uygulamalarda kullandığı konuları aydınlatılması hedeflenmiştir. Özellikle yazılı belgeler kurban olgusunun Urartu kültüründe önemli bir yeri olduğunu göstermiştir. Aslında bu kavrambirçok kültürde benzerdir ve bazı uygulamalarda Urartu’nun da bazı benzerlikleri paylaştığı anlaşılmaktadır. Çalışmada ayrıca Urartu’daki kurban uygulamaları hakkındaki sorulara yeni bakış açıları getirilmeye çalışılmıştır.
Present article aims to deal with concept of sacrifice and its rituals performed in the Urartian culture.Inscriptions show that the animal sacrifice is a crucial status in the Urartian religion. Inscriptions and archaeological finds have provided a considerable amount of information on the types of the sacrificial rituals, their rules as well as nature of the animals. Yet, it is certain that we need more detailed information on the position of the sacrifice during the practice of the rituals. In this article I will try to open new vistas to the evidence associated with sacrifice in the Urartian Kingdom.
