Özet
Dye removal from the industrial effluents has become a significant problem in terms of both health and environmental considerations in the last decades. Dyes are toxic thus their removal from the industrial effluents is vital. In this study, poly(acrylamide) grafted onto cross-linked poly(4-vinyl pyridine) (P4-VP-g-PAm) was synthesised and used for the removal of anionic dye methyl orange (MO) and cationic dye methylene blue (MB) from the aqueous solutions. The factors influencing the sorption process was studied as a function of pH, sorbent dose, contact time and temperature. The sorption process was investigated in terms of Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherms and several sorption kinetic models were used to predict the nature of sorption. The novel sorbent worked efficiently in real sample analysis with acceptable accuracy and precision. As a result, P4-VP-g-PAm was found to be an efficient sorbent for the removal of MO and MB from aqueous solutions. @ 2018 Scibulcom Ltd. All Rights Reserved.
