Özet
Adli hemşirelik, adli bilimlerin en yeni çalışma alanlarından birisidir. Adli hemşirelik alanındaki en büyük sıkıntı görev tanımı ve fonksiyonlarının tam olarak yapılmamış olmasıdır. Her ne kadar meslek özellikleri ve etik ilkeler çerçevesinde işlevleri tanımlansa da, şu an için uygulamada yaygın olarak yer almamaları nedeniyle bu konuda belirli sınırlar çizmek zordur. Batı ülkelerinde hemşirelik uygulamaları arasında belirgin rol değişiklikleri bulunmakla birlikte bazı ülkelerde adli hemşireliğin çalışma alanları ve rolleri çok iyi bir şekilde tanımlanmıştır. Ancak adli hemşireliğin tarihi ile ilgili kapsamlı bir uluslar arası bir literatür olmadığı için adli hemşireliğin çalışma alanları ve rolleri ile ilgili yaygın farklılıklar vardır. Uluslar Arası Adli Hemşireler Birliği'nin rol tanımlarına (1997) göre genel anlamada adli hemşirelik özelleşilebilecek birçok alandan oluşmaktadır. Bunlar; Klinik Adli Hemşireliği, Cinsel Saldırı Muayene Hemşireliği, Şüpheli Ölüm Araştırmacı Hemşireliği, Adli Doğrulama Hemşireliği, Adli Geriatri Hemşireliği, Adli Yasalarda Hemşirelik Rehberliği Danışmanlığı (Hemşirelik Hukuku Danışmanı) Adli Hemşirelik Araştırmacıları, Adli Pediatri Hemşireliği ve Adli Psikiyatri Hemşireliği'dir. Adli hemşireler bakım alanı dışında yargılama sürecinde de çalıştıkları için rollerin genişletilmesi gerekli hale gelmiştir. Adli hemşirelerin rolleri tanım olarak değişmiş olmasına rağmen çalışma alanlarında görevlerini yerine getirmede hala sıkıntılar vardır.
Forensic nursing is one of the most current fields of study. One of the major problems in the field of forensic nursing is the lack of satisfactory duty description and that there is no clear definition of the functions of the job. it is difficult to draw definite lines as they do not take place widely in applications, the characteristics of the job and the definitons of the functions within the frame of the ethical principles have been defined well, though. Even though remarkable role changes among the nursing practices exist in western countries, field of activities and their roles for forensic nursing are well-well defined in some western countries. However, as there is not a comprehensive information about the history of forensic nursing, the field of activities of forensic nursing and their roles show diverse differences. According to the definitions of American Forensic Nursing Association (1997), forensic nursing, in general sense, consist of many subfields that can be privatised. These can be exemplified as Clinical Forensic Nurse Specialist, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, Nurse Coroner/Death investigators, Forensic Correctional Nurse, Forensic Geriatric Nursing, Forensic Legal Nurse Consultants, Forensic Nurse investigators, Forensic Pediatric Nursing and Forensic Psychiatric Nursing. As forensic nurses work in process of judging apart from their own field, it is necessary that their roles and duties should be extended. Although the roles and duties of forensic nurses have undergone significant changes, the difficulties they have to endure while they perform their duties and tasks stil exist.
