Özet
In the last quarter of the 17th century, the wars laid bare both the development of European states and the incompetence of the Ottoman Empire in many fields. At the beginning of the 18th century Ottomans entered a short period with many reforms and innovations called the Tulip Era holds a great place in Ottoman translation history where these translations were an act of state, especially demands and selections of the Grand Vizier Damat Ibrahim Pasha. Chronicles and researches are studied in order to collect translated texts to review in translation studies. In this research we aim to examine translations, translators' approaches, Grand Vizier's role within the concept of rewriting and notions such as patronage and ideology. Some of the twenty four translated texts we collected will be discussed in this view and improvements linked with translation activities will be pointed to signify the relationsips between the actors and translation activities.
