İstatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamasına rağmen, kaygı düzeyi düşük olan bireylerin ortalama zihinsel reaksiyon zamanı (MDRZ) ve hareket reaksiyon zamanı (MMZ)'nın daha düşük olduğu bulundu.;Vienna Test System, Individual Sports, Team Sports, Cognitive Skills, Perceptive Skills, Motor Skills.;Viyana Test Sistemi, Bireysel Spor, Takım Sporu, Bilişsel Yetenek, Algısal Yetenek, Motor Yetenek.Öğe The Effect of a 12-Week Physical Exercise Program in Adults on Satisfaction with Life, Self-Esteem, Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors and Perceived Social Support(Kamla-Raj Enterprises, 2015) Dorak, FerudunThe aim of this study was to examine the effect of a 12-week physical exercise program in adults on satisfaction with life, healthy lifestyle behaviors, perceived social support and self-esteem. The main findings of the present study showed that an interaction effect for group and time existed in self-esteem, physical activity, friend and special person (p<.05). When the analyses made for the concept of perceived social support were examined in the study, while a statistically significant difference was observed in a positive direction in the pre-test and final test point averages for the sub-dimensions of "friend" and "special person". of the experimental group, it was observed that there was no difference at all in the "family" sub-dimension. In conclusion, it is thought that participating in regular physical activity is effective in preserving the bodily functions of individuals and in being psychosocially healthy individuals.Öğe The influence of physical activity on attention in Turkish children(Drunpp-Sarajevo, 2012) Adsiz, Ersen; Dorak, Ferudun; Ozsaker, Murat; Vurgun, NilgunThis study aims to determine the influence of regular physical activity on attention among 4th and 5th graders. A total of 60 4th and 5th graders aged between 9-11 participated in the study. This is an experimental study which employs a pretest-posttest control group design. The experimental and control groups consisted of 30 children each, who did and did not engage in sports activities respectively. The data were collected using personal information form and Bourdon Attention Test, and analyzed using Gretl software package with multiple regression analysis. The results show that physically active children had significantly higher attention levels compared to sedentary children (p<0.05). In conclusion, engaging in physical activities regularly and under the supervision of a trainer positively affects attention development in 4th and 5th graders.Öğe The Relationship between Personality and Sportspersonship Orientations(Kamla-Raj Enterprises, 2015) Dorak, FerudunThe purpose of this study was to examine the relationship and interaction between personality traits and sportspersonship orientations according to gender differences. 510 (235 female, 275 male) professional athletes from various team sports voluntarily participated in this study. The revised version of Eysenck's Personality Questionnaire and Multidimensional Sportspersonship Orientations Scale were used to collect data. The results of this study revealed that female athletes obtained higher scores when compared to males in extraversion-concern and respect for social conventions, respect for rules and officials and commitment towards sport participation subscales. In conclusion, the results of this study indicated that there was a significant relationship between personality subscales and sportspersonship orientation. In addition, personality subscales significantly effected sportspersonship orientations according to gender.Öğe The Relationship between Personality and Sportspersonship Orientations(Kamla-Raj Enterprises, 2015) Dorak, FerudunThe purpose of this study was to examine the relationship and interaction between personality traits and sportspersonship orientations according to gender differences. 510 (235 female, 275 male) professional athletes from various team sports voluntarily participated in this study. The research was conducted with 865 students from Izmir city center who participated voluntarily (407 females, 458 males; 270 active and 595 not active sports participants). Some anthropometric and Physical tests were administered to determine the students' Physical performance. The motor performance tests used were as follows: right-left hand grasp strength and standing long jump for muscle strength, 30 second shuttle test for muscle endurance, sit-reach test for flexibility, 30 meter run test for speed, and 1 mile (1609 meters) run test for cardiovascular endurance. To determine self esteem level, the short school form of the Coopersmith Self Esteem Inventory (1967) was used. The characteristics of Physical performance and self esteem were investigated among the groups (in terms of age, gender and status of sports participation) using variance analysis at 3x2x2 level and Bon-ferroni test. The anthropometric measurements, physical performance and self esteem scores of the female students and male students who participated in physical activity were higher than those of the female students and male students who did not participate in sports. Statistically significant relationships were found between self esteem of the children aged between 12-14 who actively participated in physical activity and their strength, speed and cardiovascular endurance.Öğe SELF-ESTEEM AND BODY IMAGE OF TURKISH ADOLESCENT GIRLS(Soc Personality Res Inc, 2011) Dorak, FerudunThe aim in this study was to examine the relationship between self-esteem and body image in female adolescents who are athletes or nonathletes.
